PERSONAL ITEMS
NOTE: Planet Aid’s yellow clothes donation bins are all over the DC area and many other parts of the country. They offer an easy way to donate clothes and shoes. However, Planet Aid has been strongly criticized by Charity Watch, earning an “F” rating.
It has also been the subject of a very interesting radio documentary by Reveal, which is part of the Center for Investigative Reporting. Reveal found that Planet Aid is tied to a secretive Danish organization known as the Teachers Group. It also found little evidence of Planet Aid donations being used effectively in Africa, which is Planet Aid’s focus.
