Hearts of Empowerment
We are a minority-run nonprofit that exists to help other nonprofits, whatever their cause. Our mission is to help smaller nonprofits have the resources and expertise to realize their missions.
At our core, Hearts of Empowerment was created with the simple idea of helping others. No matter how hard; no matter the cause. Most charities have a singular focus, but Hearts of Empowerment is an adaptable organization that essentially adopts the causes of the charities we partner with.
No charity should have to close their doors due to lack of funding. Which is why our mission is to create strategic events that promote fundraising and awareness, giving charities the power to fight on.
By supporting us, you will effectively be helping countless people, causes and communities around the world. A dollar to us is a fight for all causes.
We exist to bridge the gap between the largest and smallest nonprofit organizations. We exist because we believe all charities deserve a fighting chance. We exist because we care.
Charities were created with a cause in mind -- cancer, the environment, hunger, clean water, Alzheimer's, human rights. We exist to help them all.
Who's to say that one charity's cause is better than another's? The answer is nobody. At the end of the day, all charities share one thing -- to help.
But the question is, who helps those who do the helping?
Hearts of Empowerment exists because we want to help those who help.
To put it simply, we are a nonprofit for nonprofits. Our organization is dedicated to assisting other nonprofit organizations with their mission. By doing so, we are helping communities around the world move forward. We achieve this in three ways:
- Fundraising Events: We believe that lack of finances should never be a reason why a nonprofit fails to continue its mission. As a fundraising and event planning nonprofit, Hearts of Empowerment aims to solve this problem.
- Awareness Events: Finances are not always an organization's largest obstacle to success. That's why Hearts of Empowerment has a multi-faceted approach to event planning. If your organization's focus is to increase exposure and awareness around your cause, we target specific communities and previously unreached demographics to increase conversation and interaction with your organization.
- Nonprofit Consulting: A lack of funds or awareness is not always the main reason a nonprofit is struggling. An organization's strategic approach and business model can lack structure, which may lead to more problems.
By being able to give a helping hand wherever needed, we can provide aid across different communities and causes. Creating these events allows two essential things to happen. First, the events provide immediate funding for them to continue. Second, they make more people aware of their organization's mission. Our reach is limited, but the more support and recognition we are able to garner, the further we can extend our reach.
The key difference is that we are the only nonprofit organization that creates fundraising events for other charities. In addition, we are not bound by a particular cause. Hearts of Empowerment will adopt the cause of the charity we've partnered with. This allows us to help a variety of causes and communities.
Hearts of Empowerment continually strives to help uplift charities and communities wherever we can. In our first year, we were able to: Raise $115,000 for charities, partner with six charities, plan seven events and mobilize 82 volunteers.
With the pandemic, we have pivoted to provide aid to communities that have been affected by COVID-19. We have started multiple initiatives to assist those affected by COVID-19 and, more recently, the BLM movement.
Our efforts include providing over 1,000 healthy lunches to hospital workers, supplies and necessities to senior citizens, delivering bags of groceries/medical supplies to communities in Honduras, and purchasing groceries for single mothers who have faced difficulty due to the pandemic.
As COVID-19 continues to be a problem in our daily lives, this is only the beginning, and we have more initiatives to come. Most recently we hosted a Virtual Town Hall featuring a group of influential community leaders that stimulated dialogue about the BLM movement.
As an organization led by minority leaders, we could not sit silently and let the injustices continue to go unchecked. This virtual town hall provided our audience the opportunity to share their voice and receive feedback from leaders who are promoting change.
Hearts of Empowerment has many processes in place to ensure the efficacy and allocation of funds. We also have a team of accountants to help us with our finances. In addition, we will post our yearly audits on our website for transparency. We understand that as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the allocation of funds is of the utmost importance. There is a a lot of trust placed in our organization and we do not plan to lose it.
