MAG America

Helps communities recover from conflict by reducing the threat from remaining landmines, cluster munitions, ordnance and weapons.  MAG has conducted clearance and education programs in over 35 countries worldwide.

How do you help people in my community?

MAG America provides communities in the US with the opportunity to connect with individuals, families, and communities around the world that are faced with the threat of landmines and unexploded ordnance every day of their lives.  We educate Americans about the civilian threat that can remain in the aftermath of conflict and offer ways in which they can be part of MAG’s global solution.

Why do you need my support?

MAG’s vision is a world where people can build peaceful and prosperous futures free from the impact of dangerous remnants of conflict.  There is still a great deal of work to do to rid the world of  landmines, unexploded ordnance, and weapons that remain after conflict and we need support from individuals, companies and governments alike to continue making the world a safer place.

Donations from the public are used to reach communities most in need and enable MAG to respond quickly to emergency situations. These unrestricted funds also provide us with the ability to continue projects where previous funding sources are no longer available or have run out. Where grant funds take time to come about and remain inflexible, public funds have the potential to save lives faster, in new areas, where there is no infrastructure in place - that's why we need them most.

A donation as small as $18 will enable MAG to remove and safely destroy five weapons that are a danger to lives and a barrier to lasting peace.  $30 can  make 10 square meters of land safe from the danger and devastation caused by landmines and unexploded ordnance.   A day of life-saving mine risk education can be provided to an at-risk village for only $50.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

More than 90 percent of MAG's income is spent directly on conflict recovery programs.  You can be confident that when you donate to MAG America we will use your money as efficiently as possible.  We undergo a stringent annual audit from an external party, which ensures responsible and compliant expenditure of donor funds.

Can I Volunteer? How?
