Why do we exist?
Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. (LRR) is a local all-volunteer group whose purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted Labrador Retrievers in metropolitan District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Maryland Suburbs.
What have you accomplished?
LRR has been active in the rescue of labs since 1993. LRR celebrates the placement of over 1,500 dogs. Each year LRR rescues between 40 and 50 labs from shelters and other undesirable situations to place them in permanent homes where they can be loved and properly cared for.
LRR also educates the public in animal welfare and promotes spay and neuter to prevent overpopulation.
Many people have lost their jobs or their homes and have been unable to keep their treasured and beloved pets. LRR has helped those families by taking the labs and finding them new homes; this has given many families peace of mind
