How do you help people in my community?

Terminal illness can affect anyone, anytime, anywhere.  When it does happen, there are many lives that are touched.  Through Fairygodmother Foundation, wish recipients, perhaps for the last time, are able to have control in their life.  It could be as simple as an elegant meal with family to creating an exquisite fairytale wedding.  These wishes create a time when wish recipients can forget about their illness and concentrate on making a memory of a lifetime. 

For family and friends, the gift of a wish is an opportunity for them to have closure and make incredible memories also.  These will stay with them long after their loved one has passed away.  The granting of a final wish is an avenue for friends and family to support and comfort them as the wish is fulfilled. 

Why do you need my support?

Fairygodmother Foundation is a small organization that would not be possible without your support.  Your money has a huge impact on us since we do not receive any government support and rely exclusively on private donations.  Our budget is about $1 million, but only half of that is cash.  The other half is received as donated goods and services.  Monetary and in-kind donations to Fairygodmother Foundation are so important, because they can go such a long way. 

With your help, we will grow Fairygodmother Foundation.  This means not only increasing the number of people served, but also expanding the scope of the wishes.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Although Fairygodmother Foundation is small, we do receive a full financial audit every year.  Also, 75% of our budget is spent solely on granting wishes. 

Can I Volunteer? How?

Volunteers are an essential part of Fairygodmother Foundation.  We have some volunteers that have been with us for over 6 years.  Volunteers in the Chicago area have worked in the office, but especially with special events.  Volunteers who live elsewhere in the country have helped by holding small events of their own, raising funds and awareness for the Foundation.
