Cradle of Hope Adoption Center, Inc.

Help an abandoned child! We provide adoption services and support to children who are waiting for permanent, loving families. You can make a difference in a child’s future! 301-587-4400

Why do we exist?

Cradle of Hope was founded by adoptive parents to help abandoned children.  Millions of children around the world live in orphanages in dire conditions, without enough food, clothing or love. We work to make a difference for these children, by providing humanitarian aid to orphanages and by providing adoption services so that more children can have a future in a loving family.

What have you accomplished?

Since its inception, Cradle of Hope has found permanent loving homes for more than 3,000 children who now have the opportunity to grow up in a family who will nuture and support them.  Many of the children have special challenges, including missing limbs, hearing loss, heart defects, dwarfism, cleft lips and palates and severe developmental delays.

We are very proud of our Bridge of Hope Summer Camp program, which brings older children from Russian orphanages to spend a month with a US host family, attend day camp, and learn about American culture. Many families prefer to adopt infants, so finding homes for older children is always challenging.  Our Bridge of Hope program gives families and children the opportunity to get to know each other before making a lifelong commitment. More than 90% of our participants (ages 6 – 12 years old) find adoptive families through this highly successful program.

A family in West Virginia adopted a little boy from Russia.  At the time of the adoption, they learned that he had four older siblings all living in orphanages.  Our Bridge of Hope program brought two of the older siblings to the US for a one month summer stay with this family, who then went back to Russia to adopt all four of their son’s siblings.  This large sibling group would have grown up in an orphanage if not for our Bridge of Hope program.

How do you help people in my community? Why do you need my support?
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it? Can I Volunteer? How?
