Wycliffe Bible Translators

Without Scripture or literacy, life may seem hopeless for millions of people. By supporting Wycliffe, you help bring hope to many of these language communities through translation, education and literacy.

How do you help people in my community?

We may not be working in your neighborhood, but we are active in many locations around the United States. Wycliffe has provided translation for Native Americans and other groups in the U.S. such as the Gullah speakers of South Carolina.

Our regional offices throughout the United States seek to engage people in Bible translation and literacy work. The museums and events we sponsor also help to connect the American public with other cultures and languages.

Why do you need my support?

Your generosity empowers people and gives them hope for a better life.

Your gift to Wycliffe provides translation services, literacy training and language development for minority languages. The people we serve are often overlooked or marginalized. You can show them how valuable they are, both to you and to God.

It's amazing what your gift can do! For instance, on average:

  • $26 will provide beginning reading classes to someone in Africa.
  • $37 will provide an audio recording from God's Word for a group who is eager to listen and learn.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Wycliffe is a charter member of the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability (ECFA). This council ensures that Christ-centered organizations maintain the highest standards of financial stewardship. Find out more about our ECFA membership at www.ecfa.org .

Since 1942, when Wycliffe was founded, numerous organizations and governments have recognized our excellent service. Wycliffe's quality programs and dedicated workers have earned a number of prestigious awards, including nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize.
