World Orphans

Orphaned and abandoned children. We empower indigenous churches to prevent, rescue, care and provide transition programs for orphaned children. Our approach strengthens indigenous churches, impacts world communities and is cost-effective.

How do you help people in my community?

Because all of World Orphans’ funding goes overseas to the destitute children for their new homes and future, people in your community receive the blessing of being a donor to this ministry, because their gifts transform the lives of priceless kids in the developing world.

Why do you need my support?

It takes funding, of course, to construct even these very low cost orphan homes, and every gift to help orphans is a blessing. Since $200 is World Orphans’ typical “rescue cost” for one child (for example a $5,000 new home with housing for 25 kids equals $200 per child), it takes only a few “small” gifts to rescue each child. There is no greater “return on investment” than what these small gifts bring forth! The results are orphan home facilities which become the catalysts for rescuing these children and providing them a sound foundation for their years ahead.

While World orphans opened 52 new orphanages in the recent fiscal year, our vision for 2010 is one new orphan home per day. Yes, 365 homes per year! Are they needed? Yes, desperately! Will we able to finance that many? We leave that in the sovereign hands of God to provide the partners needed to accomplish this task.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

World Orphans operates without compensation for officers or directors. Administration expenses are extremely low and the ministry has been audited yearly since inception in 1993. Donations that will finance an entire new home construction, or half a home, are always passed through 100% for the intended purposes. You have our unequivocal word on this. We are conservative to the core and try never to waste one dollar!

Can I Volunteer? How?

Since World Orphans is solely an international ministry, our need for local volunteers is nominal. Prayers for World Orphans, including our selection of developing countries and the churches with whom we partner, their selection of orphaned children to be rescued and housed, and for their ongoing operational costs, are all important. Also, we request prayers for the donor base to continually increase to meet the ever-growing demand of homes for these children.

Short term mission trips are also possible to many of the current World Orphans’ homes around the world. One can also volunteer by spreading word of this unique ministry to churches, businesses and friends. It gives them an opportunity to receive the wonderful blessings that God has revealed throughout the scriptures for those who will provide help for the orphans. Thank you!

“My name is Gladson Peter and I am 15 years old. I am in the Freedom Boy’s Home in Kerala, India. My father was a heavy alcoholic, and he cared neither for us children nor our mother. She had to take a very bitter step of fleeing from him, taking my brother and me with her. Rev. John Chacko and the staff at the home were very gracious to us, and granted a job to my mother as caretaker and admitted my brother and me to live and be schooled here. They take care of us very well and we are really happy here. I will be graduating in April this year. I look forward to further my studies while staying here. Here we have all kinds of spiritual edification programs, as well as many other extra curricular activities.”
