Providing life, opportunity and hope to many of the world's poorest and most vulnerable children and families, through emergency relief, rehabilitation, long-term development and Christian love and service.
How do you help people in my community?
"Abundant life comes out of what you can give, and not what you possess." Tom LePage, World Concern Africa Director.
Over 2600 people in the greater Seattle area found great fulfillment working in our warehouse, packing and sorting items that were sent to many countries in the world. Over 50,000 individuals throughout the United States assembled SHARE Kits that were sent to Bosnia, Kosovo, and Uzbekistan. Churches, Youth Groups, Public and Private Schools, Rotary clubs, Women's groups, as well as families and individuals participated in the SHARE Kit program so far this year. World Concern's President and several staff members speak in public forums, educating the community about the countries in which we work. As the international arm of Seattle based CRISTA ministries, World Concern is part of a large organization that impacts the Seattle area for good through Urban Academy for kids at risk, Christian Camps, Counseling Services, Retirement Center and Nursing Home, three Christian radio stations, Intercristo job placement service, Kings Christian Schools, and Alderbrook Inn Conference Center.
Why do you need my support?
Because we can't do it without you! Your gift goes a long way to break the cycle of poverty and bring hope to the people we serve:
- $15 provides a rabbit for a widow in Rwanda to help support her small business enterprise and feed her family.
- $25 buys one goat for a Haitian child to begin a business that can change their life!
- $35 provides one month care & training for a girl in Ethiopia, rescued from a life of prostitution.
- $45 for a fish farm project in Bangladesh.
- $50 buys ten fruit trees for a poor family in Bolivia.
- $75 provides an irrigation well for Cambodia families.
- $90 provides three months of food for a family in Kosovo.
- $100 buys two pigs and a hog pen for a poor family in Thailand.
- $250 provides one ox for two families to dramatically increase their crop production.
- $800 buys a bike and Bibles for ten village pastors in Uganda.
Each one of these gifts represents the difference between total poverty and the gift of great hope for the future. Just a few items sacrificed on a shopping list can make the difference in the lives of these children and their families! Every dollar you designate will go directly to the project of your choice. How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
"I have been to the field and have seen the quality and commitment of the World Concern workers and the life-giving impact of the projects. In addition, as a donor I have been allowed a close involvement with the inner workings of the home office and I have the highest respect for every aspect of World Concern's ministry. I know the money I give to World Concern is in the best of hands." Sarah Congdon, Tuscon, Arizona.
"Before retirement, I was a regular financial donor to World Concern because of the worthwhile mission and low overhead which I learned about through the Combined Federal Campaign. Upon retirement, I wanted a meaningful volunteer opportunity and naturally looked first at World Concern. I continue to help out there as it has been a very fulfilling experience to contribute my time and energy to such a worthy organization." Bill Luedtke, Senior Master Sergeant/GS10, Retired, United States Air Force/Washington Air National Guard. Mukilteo, Washington
World Concern has maintained many loyal donors over the years because they have found that World Concern delivers their promises with integrity. More than 85 cents of every dollar goes directly to the children and families we serve. World Concern complies with the standards of several watchdog organizations, including the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and the National Charities Information Bureau (NCIB).
