Venice Family Clinic

Provides free, quality primary health care, dental care, vision care, mental health, medications and support services to 23,500 low-income and uninsured patients. Nearly 6,000 patients are children; 3,800 are homeless.

How do you help people in my community?

By keeping people healthy and giving them a stable medical home, Venice Family Clinic contributes to the overall health and economic well-being of Los Angeles County. It also keeps the uninsured out of local hospital emergency rooms. This relieves the financial strain on hospitals and ensures that we all have access to the care we need, when we need it.

Why do you need my support?

Venice Family Clinic could only have grown into the largest free clinic in the country with support from every part of the community, from individuals and corporations to partner agencies and local governments. Some give funds, others volunteer their time, and others donate their goods and services. All are welcome and appreciated.

The Clinic needs your support because more and more people become uninsured every year. In addition, the cost of providing health care continues to rise while government funding of health care for the uninsured declines.

Venice Family Clinic is different from other causes because it is dealing with America’s most urgent social issue – the need for accessible health care. Also, it doesn’t just provide one kind of service or care for one kind of person. It cares for children and adults, the working poor and the homeless, people who are healthy and people who are sick. It provides the services that pregnant women need to deliver healthy babies. It helps people with diabetes, asthma and hypertension manage their diseases and live happy, productive lives. It provides a safe place for battered women. It gives the homeless someone to trust and the resources they need to get back on their feet.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Venice Family Clinic spends 84% of its revenue on programs, 11% on administration, and only 5% on fundraising. It received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator – the highest possible rating for efficiency.
