Unitarian Universalist Service Committee

UUSC promotes worker's rights and fair wages, advances the human right to water, defends civil liberties, protects rights during humanitarian crises and envisions a world free from injustice.

How do you help people in my community?

UUSC’s work is rooted in the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR in turn expresses basic moral principles about the universal worth and dignity of all people. UUSC works to advance human rights to the well-being and betterment of ALL people, by virtue of their inalienable status as human beings.

Why do you need my support?

Your gift, of any size, will make a huge difference. UUSC strives to devote as much of the charitable income we receive as possible to the people who most need help.

Our vision and approach are both grounded in our deep commitment to mutuality and equality in partnership. These values inform our approach to relationships, with all of the people we work with. It is this vision of the full and equal dignity of all people -- and the ways this vision informs our work -- that mark our place in the world of human rights and social justice advocacy.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

One measure of our profile as a fiducially responsible steward of donation income is provided by Charity Navigator, a leading index that rates management practices of nonprofits. For two years running, UUSC has received the four-star rating
