How do you help people in my community?
We provide assistance to people who have come to our Village from all over the United States. We provide an environment that helps them maintain their dignity as they begin to build a new life. If they fail, we are there to help them put their lives back together. We are Neighbors Helping Neighbors™.
Why do you need my support?
Every gift makes a real difference in the lives of our neighbors that need assistance. $1.25 provides a meal to a hungry person. $90 sends a child from our Village to camp for a week, an important opportunity for a child to create their own special memories. There are so many ways you can help.
Every donation you make demonstrates you trust us to continue our mission of feeding, clothing, sheltering, educating, and training our homeless neighbors. You trust us to offer emergency shelter on cold nights, to expand children’s programs as our family population continues to grow, to add job-training classes as new technologies emerge. You can take heart that neighbors in need are better off because of your generosity.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
Our overhead is less than 10%, meaning that over $.90 of every dollar goes directly to our programs that assist our neighbors in need, while other non-profits operate on an average of 20-35% overhead. Audits by J.H. Cohn verify this administrative overhead figure and are available upon request.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Yes. Volunteers work side by side with staff to make a difference in the lives of neighbors in need through the programs offered at our Village. Volunteers assist our residents in many ways. From caring for infants to trimming a resident’s hair, our broad range of volunteer opportunities offer something of interest to everyone.
