Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific

Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific (formerly Shasta-Diablo) champions healthy communities and increases access to quality health care, information and reproductive freedom by providing medical services, education and advocacy.

How do you help people in my community?

Last year, we provided over 74,000 women, men and teens with reproductive health care and educational services in our 17 health care centers and multiple satellite sites within the seventeen counties we serve in Northern California. Activities we participate in are as varied as Capitol Day in Sacramento, the San Francisco Pride Parade and Aids Walk San Francisco. Our outreach efforts include safe houses for victims of domestic violence, youth transitional homes and shelters for homeless families among others.

We have health centers located in Butte, Colusa, Contra Costa, Glenn, Lake, Lassen, Marin, Mendocino, Modoc, Napa, Plumas, San Francisco, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma and Tehama Counties to serve a diverse population of clients. Our Community Services and Education staff travels throughout our area, making presentations to classrooms, extracurricular clubs, and community service groups and offering counseling services to low-income individuals and families. Last year, we provided comprehensive sexuality education, youth development, case management and counseling services to 33,437 youth, teens, adults and parents.
Help us serve the people in our community by choosing the "Local" designation for your gift when you click Give Online Now and go to Planned Parenthood's online donation page.

Why do you need my support?

Our vision is that people become parents by when the time is right for them; privacy is an incontestable right; and reproductive health care is available, affordable, and effective in every community. Every gift made, large or small, is a statement that supports this vision. The money we raise from members of the community provides fact-based, quality reproductive health care to the women, men, and teens we serve.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

69% of our income goes directly to Client Medical Services. The remaining percentage covers Administration, Fundraising, Public Affairs and our extensive Education and Counseling services.

Can I Volunteer? How?

Yes – we need volunteers in our health centers, to work on special events, assist at outreach events, and conduct education programs. There are numerous areas where volunteers are needed! Just log onto www.pp-sp.org and click on PPSP Volunteering or call (925) 676-0505 for more information.
