How do you help people in my community?
There are 375 National Park System units located in 49 States that NPCA works to protect and preserve. Every year since 1990, NPCA has held March for Parks, America's largest national Earth Day event, In 1997, hundreds of events were held in all 50 states. March for Parks raises awareness and funds for local park programs such as trail improvement, recycling, tree planting, wild life protection, land acquisition, and environmental education. National, state, and local parks participate in the program. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from each event stay in the local community, to be donated to a park project selected by a local volunteer organizer.
Why do you need my support?
For every accomplishment NPCA has achieved, another challenge is waiting on the horizon. Mining, inappropriate motorized recreation, unneeded roads and development, and declining air quality are all threatening the integrity of our beloved parks. Added to these are specific challenges that go to the heart of individual parks' values.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
NPCA follows the Better Business Bureau and National Charities information guidelines in its fundraising practices.
