How do you help people in my community?

We provide support and assistance to the homeless and low-income Latino population throughout the DC metro area.  Although our services target the Latino population in Ward One, we serve anyone in need or in crisis.  Our work is grounded in a strength-based approach which recognizes the inherent value and worth of the individuals and families we serve.  We believe that by providing bi-lingual, culturally competent services directly, sensitively and in a consistent, non-judgmental manner, our programs fulfill a vital role in helping our clients move toward self-sufficiency.

Why do you need my support?

Support of Neighbors' Consejo ensures that the agency can continue to provide the full spectrum of services needed by some of the DC metro areas neediest residents.

Last year, NC touched the lives of more than 1500 of the areas most vulnerable families, offering them mental health and substance abuse treatment services in addition to opportunities to improve their Spanish and English literacy skills, retain employment, and ultimately, achieve personal and financial independence.

Our clients come to us with tremendous needs.  Untangling their lives is a complex process, but every day at Neighbors' Consejo with the support of compassionate people like you we rekindle Hope and Dignity so that these people, our neighbors, have the opportunity they deserve to reach their full potential.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Oversight of Neighbors' Consejo is provided by a volunteer, unpaid Board of Directors comprised of concerned community members.  We are audited annually and will make our financials available upon written request.  We take seriously the trust our donors place in us to use their money wisely.  We keep our overhead expenses low to ensure that your contributions go to serving our neighbors in need.

Can I Volunteer? How?

Yes, you can!  Neighbors' Consejo volunteers provide vital support to our programs.  Giving thousands of hours of caring services, our committed corps of volunteers enriches every one of our programs and play an essential role in the agency and in the lives of the people we serve.
