We work for health for all through research, advocacy, scholarships and bilingual helplines for consumers and providers. Major areas: environment, physical activity, diabetes, depression, HIV, cancer, Medicare and the uninsured.
Why do we exist?
The Alliance and its members are dedicated to inform and mobilize consumers; support providers in the delivery of quality care; improve the science base for accurate decision-making; promote appropriate use of technology; and, promote philanthropy. Together we have deliver caring services to over 14 million people every year, making a daily difference in the lives of Hispanic communities.
What have you accomplished?
- Assist over 6,500 Hispanic consumers to navigate the health care system through our national bilingual helplines;
- Mobilize and support a nation wide grass roots effort to inform Hispanic Medicare recipients about the new prescription drug benefit, and delivering one-to-one counseling sessions to over a quarter million Hispanic seniors and adults with disabilities;
- We saw success in passage of the Patient Navigator Act that will bring promotoras to communities to help guide people through the health system;
