The National Breast Cancer Foundation's mission is to save lives by increasing breast cancer awareness through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.
Why do we exist?
43,500 women will die of breast cancer this year from breast cancer. Most women are not following the most simple techniques of breast self-examinations, regularly scheduled doctor visits and mammograms. The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) educates women about the life-saving techniques of early detection and focuses on providing free mammograms to the underserved.
What have you accomplished?
NBCF conducts national educational programs under the leadership of founder/president Janelle Hail, who is a breast cancer survivor of 18 years. NBCF’s national programs are spotlighting the need for breast cancer education such as the one recently conducted in Orlando, Florida, with singer Gladys Knight and motivational speaker, Les Brown. Working with a coalition of homeless shelters across the state and the largest hospital in Central Florida, NBCF uniquely brought media publicity to the enormous problem of breast cancer education with answers of help and hope to the needy through breast care information.
