Using aviation and other technologies, MAF brings the Gospel and life-sustaining services to isolated people worldwide. MAF delivers hope as well as food, Bibles, medical care and relief workers.
How do you help people in my community?
Every day MAF deploys a full range of aviation, communications, and learning technologies services to maximize ministry throughout Asia, Africa, Eurasia, and Latin America. MAF transforms lives in 55 countries of the world, serving over 1,000 Christian and humanitarian organizations.
MAF touches peoples’ lives. When village women experience life-threatening complications in childbirth, MAF planes carry them to the hospital. When missionaries need to reach isolated areas, MAF carries them to people who have never heard the Gospel. When earthquakes, hurricanes, or tsunamis destroy communities, MAF transports relief workers and supplies. When new believers in difficult countries need a discrete way to access the Bible, MAF-LT responds with electronic scripture tools.
Why do you need my support?
MAF’s mission is unique in the mission world: to overcome barriers of terrain and bring the Gospel, along with the hope of a better life, to the isolated corners of the world. However, airplanes and the related technology are very expensive, and most of the indigenous people we serve are simply unable to pay. Therefore, MAF receives its funding from the following sources:
1. Churches and individuals who provide prayer and financial support to MAF missionary families. 2. Churches, individuals, and foundations that provide prayer and financial support to the MAF organization. 3. Relief organizations, churches, government agencies, and other groups that use MAF services.
This year, it will require $36.87 million to operate ongoing programs, launch new initiatives, expand services, and conduct a capital campaign. Total funding from support raised by MAF missionary staff, field revenue,* and the MAF Foundation amounts to $30,391,676 or 82.4 percent of total ministry costs. We seek the remaining 17.6 percent—or $6,482,100—from caring partners: individuals, churches, and foundations.
* The mission organizations we serve defray only a portion of the costs. Indigenous people with little or no resources increasingly need our services, and in such cases MAF subsidizes costs.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
