Men's Health Network

Increasing men's physical and mental health so they can live fuller and happier lives. Building healthy families one man at a time through prostate, cholesterol and diabetes education and screening efforts.

How do you help people in my community?

Men’s Health Network  supports community health/outreach programs in our numerous programs.  We provide dozens of free screenings throughout the country in work places, churches, community centers, etc.. reaching thousands of men who might not otherwise have the means to visit a physician.  MHN has screened and provided outreach assistance to people in over 950 cities in the US.

We are a strong supporter of local events and provide a free health event planning guide at:  http://www.menshealthnetwork.org/healthzone.  If your organization, whether it be corporate, nonprofit, a church, school, or community center, is planning an event Men’s Health Network can help.  We provide some of the tools necessary to make your event a success.

Perhaps the most valuable way that we help your community is through building healthier families.  Our services can help males live longer and be more aware of their physical and mental health.  With healthy male role models the family unit is strengthened.

Why do you need my support?

Every screening event makes a difference, and every dollar will help us to continue our mission to save lives through our screenings and provide assistance to community health programs.  Your donation may contribute to screenings for men who have no other means of  receiving preventative screenings or help us provide free health educational materials for a local church or neighborhood programs.  They are vital because they provide important health information to people who may not know they are in danger for certain health risks.  Funding is also spent on producing educational materials that provide vital health information to those who need it most.

MHN will greatly benefit from your support and will be able to fulfill our goals of expanding outreach and screening programs designed for underserved members of the population and continuing a series of regional symposia to bring policy makers, physicians, public health officials, community organizations, and researchers together to define men's health issues.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

An overwhelming percentage, around 90% of Men’s Health Network funding goes back into the community through our numerous programs.  We are listed on Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator with a four star (highest available) ranking.  We have extremely low overhead costs with only 6-10 full time employees working at minimum salaries to keep this national movement running.  We also rely on hundreds of volunteers, health professionals, and interns who provide their services at no cost.

Can I Volunteer? How?

There are several ways that you can get involved!  If you are a health professional or a leader in the men’s health arena we invite you to join our Board of Advisors, please visit:  http://www.menshealthnetwork.org/board.htm for more information on getting involved in this capacity.  We encourage you to get involved locally and use our resources to plan your own health event, for creative ideas and a planning guide visit: http://www.menshealthnetwork.org/healthzone.  To volunteer for local events call 202-543-6461 x101.
