Mary's Center embraces culturally diverse communities in the DC Metropolitan region and provides over 15,000 individuals with high quality healthcare, social and education services, regardless of ability to pay.
How do you help people in my community?
We serve families from all over the metropolitan region although most are District residents.
Why do you need my support?
Your contribution in any amount can make a tremendous difference in the life of a child. Just $300 -- $25 per month – can provide comprehensive medical care for a child for an entire year. In addition, this support will open the door for Mary's Center to provide other services, like case management, educational programs, and much more. These services provide a lifelong benefit to the families receiving them.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
We at Mary's Center work to get the most out of each dollar with which we are entrusted. Mary’s Center has been recognized by former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop and ABC’s “American Agenda” as a national model for delivering maternal and child health services to families in need. Other awards Mary’s Center has received include The Washington Post 1999 Award for Excellence in Non-Profit Management, a project of the Washington Council of Agencies; the 1998 Community Service Award from the Hispanic Bar Association; the Women’s Health Grants Program Award from the Fannie Mae Foundation; and a top award from the Models That Work Competition/Innovative Primary Health Care Program for Underserved and Vulnerable Populations from the Bureau of Primary Health Care of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Mary's Center needs volunteers to mentor teens, help run our child play groups, help with office tasks, plan special events, and much more! Call Mary Beth Taylor at 202-483-8319, ext. 306.
