Military Officers Association of America Scholarship Fund - American Patriot Scholarship

Provides undergraduate education grants to children of military members – officer and enlisted (Active, Guard or Reserve) – who died while in active service to our Nation.

Why do we exist?

After the tragic events of 11 September, 2001, the Military Officers Association of America Scholarship Fund established the American Patriot Scholarship - an educational assistance program for children whose parent died while serving on active duty in one of the seven Uniformed Services (USA, USN, USMC, USAF, USCG, USPHS, and NOAA).  We provide grants to help pay for tuition, housing, food, books, or any of the incidental expenses they incur while achieving a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree at an accredited institution.  Often, these families have made frequent moves, changed schools often, and have not had the opportunity to be involved with traditional school and outside activities – which may make them less competitive than other students.  Their parent paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our freedom – they need our support.

What have you accomplished?

Since 1938, the Military Officers Association of America Scholarship Fund has provided over 10,000 students from military families with interest-free loans and grants to help them achieve a college education.  We have provided over 100 students with an American Patriot Scholarship since 2001.  Today, that may not seem like a large number, but the need will continue to grow.  The young children of today’s military men and women who die while on active duty will grow up and need the educational foundation for success that comes through undergraduate vocational and college degrees.

How do you help people in my community? Why do you need my support?
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it? Can I Volunteer? How?
