Military Officers Association of America Scholarship Fund - American Patriot Scholarship

Provides undergraduate education grants to children of military members -- officer and enlisted (Active, Guard or Reserve) -- who died while in active service to our Nation.

How do you help people in my community?

The MOAA Scholarship Fund is a national organization with more than 1600 students either receiving educational assistance or paying back their interest-free loans each year.  Students attend accredited colleges and universities throughout the United States, and their families live in communities all over the world.

Why do you need my support?

Because MOAA covers all costs associated with operating the MOAA Scholarship Fund, 100 percent of every dollar donated goes to scholarships—not one penny pays for overhead or administrative costs.  We have provided educational assistance for 60 years, and as long as there are military families with children who are struggling to pay for college, we will be there for them.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

The MOAA Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 organization.  Each member of the Board of Directors serves for 6 years to ensure exacting oversight.  The Board meets three times each year to ensure continuity of operations and consistency in application of our policies.  The Fund is audited annually by an independent firm and has consistently received an outstanding rating.  The MOAA Scholarship Fund has been approved as one of the “Best in America” by the Independent Charities of America.

Can I Volunteer? How?

Our Headquarters is located in Alexandria, Virginia and volunteers are always appreciated.  Our primary need is for routine office work, such as filing and collating mailings.  Our workload is seasonal, especially during the scholarship application season of November through March, and in the summer.  If you are interested, contact the MOAA Scholarship Fund at 800-234-6622, ext. 169.
