In Need Of Diagnosis (INOD)

Diagnosis is the weak link in medicine. When doctors give up because they don't know what is wrong, INOD identifies unexplored options and helps patients find doctors who think out-of-the-box.

Why do we exist?

Autopsies have shown that up to 40% of diagnoses were incorrect.  In two-thirds of those cases, the person could have been treated had the diagnosis been correct.

“If you are misdiagnosed, you are undiagnosed”  “If you are not correctly diagnosed, you will not be effectively treated.”

There is no one in the medical field trained to take the pieces of the puzzle supplied by medical specialists and put them together so as to diagnose a complex or rare medical condition.  There needs to such a physician.  There needs to be a medical specialty in “Diagnosis”.  This would be the physician who looks at the big picture rather than focusing on a specific part of the anatomy.

In Need Of Diagnosis, Inc. (INOD) advocates for the creation of a medical specialty in diagnosis.  For more information you may want to read INOD’s article, Dr. House! Where are you???   http://www.ivanhoe.com/channels/p_channelstory.cfm?storyid=20614

What have you accomplished?

INOD is a resource center for those who suffer with illnesses that have eluded diagnosis.  INOD offers a Plan B.

Many of those who have contacted INOD have seen the best that traditional medicine has to offer, i.e. Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, John Hopkins, etc.  Yet they found no answers.

INOD does not diagnose but it can sometimes identify an unexplored option which may lead to help.  It also tries to help the person find a physician in their community who looks at things differently, who runs different kinds of tests and who will partner with them in finding answers.

How do you help people in my community? Why do you need my support?
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it? Can I Volunteer? How?
