How do you help people in my community?
HTS has a special program that serves children from the Sursum Corda housing project. Students receive full tuition assistance, individual tutoring and homework assistance, and full support in their athletic and social activities. To date, all graduates of the program have received scholarships to attend high school.
Why do you need my support?
There is never enough scholarship money available to meet the needs of disadvantaged families. A main reason that our program is so successful is that we do not limit our financial assistance to just tuition. We provide financial help for individual tutoring, after school help, fees to play on our sports teams, fees for extracurricular activities, and even medical or clothing needs if necessary.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
The children are our first priority. Many of our teachers are so dedicated that they volunteer their own time after school to help children, take them places, etc. In addition, teachers receive salaries that are about half what is paid in the public schools. Our administrative costs are minimal. Holy Trinity School has its finances audited each year and must provide detailed documentation to the Catholic Schools office as well.
Can I Volunteer? How?
HTS welcomes volunteers to read with the children, sort books in the library, and help in other ways.
