HSF is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education and has proven to be one of America's best educational investments, awarding more than 82,000 scholarships totaling $220 million.
Why do we exist? The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation’s leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. Founded in 1975, HSF, a 501(c)3 not-for profit organization, provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. During the 2003-04 fiscal year, HSF distributed more than $29.3 million in college scholarships, enabling more than 7,500 Latino students to further their college education. What have you accomplished? The following is a letter from Brenda Dominguez, Hispanic Scholarship Fund Recipient: Dear HSF:I cannot express how excited, proud and honored I feel to have been awarded with an HSF scholarship. I want to thank you for helping me continue my college education. Thanks to people like you who are willing to give back to the community, minority students like myself are able to pursue a higher education and offer a brighter and better future to their families. I cannot thank you enough for your support and generosity. When I feel incapable of finishing my college degree, I think of all the people who believe in me and I know that I am not alone. In addition to helping reduce the economic hardships my family faces, the scholarship is giving me the extra push, the encouragement to go on. It is good to know there are people out there who believe in me. I thank God for putting people like you in this world who are willing to extend a helping hand to those who need it most.
