Engineering Ministries International

Touching the lives of the poor by designing hospitals, orphanages, schools, water and sanitation projects.  With hundreds of volunteers, our actual overhead is just 5%!  "Designing a World of Hope."

Why do we exist?

We exist to bring hope to the poor (earning less than $2/day) in the developing world.  Hope is a hospital for the sick, a home for the orphan, a school for those who want to learn.

We mobilize volunteer engineers and architects to donate their skills to design facilities that help the disadvantaged overseas.

We meet practical needs of the poor in over 82 developing countries by helping provide clean water, sanitation, housing, hospitals, schools and orphanages.

What have you accomplished?

Since 1982 we have designed over 824 projects in 82 countries.  Last year our volunteers donated over 75,000 hours of design services worth just over 5 million dollars.

We help organizational leaders with their development projects by providing critical design and planning services.

Examples are as follows, in Sierra Leone, where there is 60-70% unemployment, we master planned the first Industrial Park meant to create jobs and add value to local resources.  In Ethiopia, we master planned a hospital where there is a only one doctor for every 25,000 people.  In Uganda, we worked with an AID’s clinic operating out of a metal shipping container.  They now have a brand new clinic to better serve more people.  In Haiti, we set up water and sanitation for displaced people camps.  In addition, we have done structural assessment of hundreds of building including plans for repair when possible.

How do you help people in my community? Why do you need my support?
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it? Can I Volunteer? How?
