Christian Relief Services

Providing food, water, clothing, housing, medicine -- basic needs for those who need help most. Working with grassroots organizations. Sharing our blessings with disadvantaged families, here and around the world.

Why do we exist?

We exist in order to connect the vast resources of America with grass roots charitable groups in the local community and throughout the globe.  Based on the principle of shared resources, we combine the wealth of the developed world with the ideas and labor of those who need help.  Together, we work toward creating long-term solutions to poverty and suffering.

What have you accomplished?

Though highly varied in scope and location, all our programs approach problems with the same fundamental belief in partnership.  Long-term progress is not the result of a one time or one sided donation; it is the result of the commitment and the process of people working together.  Our goal is to work sided-by-side with people we assist to effectively address local concerns.  We work toward promoting self-sufficiency and a healthy, safe, and economically vibrant standard of living.

There are numerous programs that we assist in funding. Here are just a few examples:

  • In partnership with 13 sponsoring agencies in Virginia, we offer up to 24 months of transitional housing, case management, and supportive services.

  • We provide holiday meals, winter clothes, new shoes, and other necessary items to poverty stricken families in Appalachia.

  • We provide permanent supportive housing to chronically mentally ill or physically challenged adults.

  • We work to help provide basic necessities on various Indian Reservations in Oklahoma, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, and North Dakota by contributing food, clothing, and hygiene items.

  • Through partnerships with local NGOs, we provide donations of food, medical supplies, hygiene items, school supplies, and building materials to hospitals, clinics, schools, orphanages and refugee camps in several African Countries.  We have programs in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Congo, and Western Sahara.

How do you help people in my community? Why do you need my support?
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it? Can I Volunteer? How?
