Christian Aid Mission

Assisting highly effective native missionaries preaching the gospel and planting churches among unreached people. Helping the poor and suffering by providing food, shelter, clothing, medicine and basic education. 434-977-5650

How do you help people in my community?

We only help indigenous ministries in poorer countries.

Why do you need my support?

Because they live in poor countries where the people they have reached have little or no money, indigenous ministries struggle to raise support to send out native missionaries. But if it comes from God’ people around the world, as little at $50 a month is all that is needed to support a missionary full time in an underdeveloped area. Most native missionaries Christian Aid helps grew up in relative poverty, and they are already accustomed to living on the same level as the impoverished people they are reaching.

Compare that with what it takes to send a North American missionary overseas.  Aside from the costs of support raising and language school, they have added costs of social security, income tax, health insurance, international travel, various kinds of clothing, private English schools for their children, comfortable housing, life insurance, retirement funds, imported foods and household appliances. Many, if not all of these, are included in the budget of a typical American missionary who goes overseas.

Christian Aid does not influence how missionary work is done by indigenous ministries. We send financial support to indigenous people who we have found to be fully competent to run their own effective, God-honoring mission. Christian Aid supports only those missions which stand without apology for the fundamental truths of historic New Testament Christianity. For many leaders and workers, their faith has been tempered in the fires of persecution.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Christian Aid has carefully researched and interviewed the leaders of the mission boards we assist. All must demonstrate that they are faithful stewards. These missions maintain full accountability for their missionaries, both financially and spiritually. Most have audited financial statements.  We also evaluate their legitimacy, effectiveness, and the extent of their work before we approve them for support by Christians in America.

Can I Volunteer? How?

We have volunteers who come into our offices to help with a variety of needs including proofreading, maintenance, data entry, computer programming, and in many other ways.  All live in or near our community.  We are seeking regional representatives who are willing to share the message of indigenous missions with churches and individuals in their area.
