Make a life-changing difference to destitute children around the world. Your donation provides life's essentials -- food, medical care, educational assistance, shoes, clothing and more -- to 335,000 impoverished children in 11 countries including the U.S.
How do you help people in my community?
Children International’s reach extends across the globe, and we operate 16 sponsorship agencies around the world. In addition to our international child sponsorship programs, we work in the United States through our Share America® Program, which operates in partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Share America provides services such as medical screenings and dental care, after-school tutoring programs, summer camps, school uniforms, youth activities, college-prep courses, and computer training and GED classes for adults, a service that helps parents of sponsored children improve their job skills and increase their earning power.
Why do you need my support?
Your gift truly has the power to change lives for the better. No donation is too small to make a difference because the need is immense. Consider that:
-
Roughly 600 million children in developing countries survive on less than $1 a day.
-
About 270 million children don’t have access to medical services.
-
Undernutrition is the cause of more than one-third of global child deaths.

Larger donations can fund specific projects like community center construction, housing and clean-water sources; while smaller monthly donations are combined to provide benefits to over 335,000 impoverished children around the world. Children International works hard to ensure donations are used in the most effective and efficient way possible to help children receive the care they deserve.
Since 1936, Children International has been dedicated to serving some of the world’s poorest children. We are a champion for their undeniable right to medical care, an education and basic human dignity.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
At Children International, we are careful stewards of every donation. Because financial accountability is so important to us, we enforce stringent accounting and financial reporting procedures to ensure that funds are spent wisely and effectively.
We respect the commitment our sponsors have made to changing children’s lives. In fact, in 2010, we devoted 82 percent of our total expenses to charitable programs, benefits and services for impoverished children and families.
Our dedication to using funds wisely has generated recognition from organizations such as the Better Business Bureau and Consumers Digest magazine, which has named Children International one of the top humanitarian organizations in the United States.
Can I Volunteer? How?
We don’t currently have any volunteer opportunities within the US.
