Why do we exist?

The Abused and Homeless Children's Refuge – Alternative House exists to provide immediate shelter and crisis intervention to children and youth who have been abused, abandoned, "thrown away," are homeless, or who have run away. Our programs strive to help young people live in stable family settings that offer nurturing parents or caregivers. What have you accomplished?

Since 1990, Alternative House has provided emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling, and crisis intervention to more than 2,000 youth and their families.
