Serving over 2,000 men, women and children daily with affordable housing, outreach, employment, emergency shelter, HIV/AIDS program, residential substance abuse treatment, and supportive housing for men and women with disabilities.
Why do we exist?
We exist to provide opportunities rather than handouts to homeless individuals. We operate the city's homeless day center which serves 300 individuals daily. We serve an additional 120 homeless men in our transitional residential facility known as Casa Raphael.
What have you accomplished?
We have worked to change the image of homeless individuals from being viewed as a liability to that of a resource. One of our 'work to recovery' programs known as Take Back the Streets provides employment to homeless individuals. This program trains in demolition and rehab. One client, as he was working, boasted, "I used to do drugs in this house, now I'm helping the community by tearing this blight down."
