Alley Cat Allies' mission is to end the killing of cats and lead the movement for their humane care.
How do you help people in my community?
We work with individuals and organizations in communities all over the country.
Why do you need my support?
We need your support to continue our informational and educational campaigns that empower people to resolve the feral cat issue in their own communities. Most of the gifts we receive are under $20. But with a broad base of support, even a "small gift" makes a big difference. At Alley Cat Allies, we make every dollar count. Every donation can save a life. Unlike other animal protection groups, we do more than save cats from immediate suffering - we work to prevent future suffering by ending the cycle of breeding that results in overpopulation. We help people to help cats.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
As participants in the Combined Federal Campaign, our financial records have been publicly scrutinized and approved by federal government agencies, using the highest industry standards, while an independent auditor examines our records annually for internal controls. A breakdown of our expenditures shows that over 75% of our budget is spent on direct program expenses.
Can I Volunteer? How?
We look for volunteers across the country to help contact legislators, foster feral kittens, offer relocation sites to feral cat colonies, provide expertise through our Feral Friends Network, or host fundraising events on our behalf. We especially need volunteers in the Washington, DC area to assist with special events and mailings.
