Africa Action

Africa Action is a grassroots human rights organization advocating for political, economic and social justice in Africa; working in solidarity with Africans to change policies of U.S government and multinational institutions.

How do you help people in my community?

Africa Action works with people across the U.S. to engage them in the policy-making processes of the U.S., and to help them understand the priorities and interests that are shared by people in this country and people in Africa.  Africa Action provides timely analysis and activist tools to empower people to take action to shape U.S. foreign policy towards Africa.

Africa Action recognizes the connection between the challenges people face in the United States and those in Africa and believes that our liberation and well being are connected to the liberation and well being of people in Africa. By making these local and global connections, Africa Action helps empower people to make change in U.S. foreign policy and equips activists with tools that can also help build change locally as well.

Why do you need my support?

Africa Action relies heavily on contributions from individuals and communities across the U.S. who care about Africa, and we greatly appreciate this support.  It allows us to continue our work on a range of urgent issues, and to engage more people in influencing U.S. policy to stop the genocide in Darfur, to cancel Africa’s debts and to end the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. A contribution to Africa Action is an investment in building a more just and equitable world.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Africa Action is governed by a board of committed volunteer directors who provide overall stewardship for the organization and ensure fiscal accountability.  Africa Action is audited each year by an independent firm, and copies of these audits are available to the public.
