Autoimmune Diseases Association

Autoimmunity causes lupus, arthritis, celiac, MS, fibromyalgia, diabetes, Crohn's, thyroiditis, Graves' and over 90 other diseases. Through research and patient services, we work to end the tremendous suffering they inflict.

How do you help people in my community?

The foremost wish of every autoimmune disease patient is a cure. Their second wish is for advancements in disease management, pain control, and quality of life until a cure is found. Accordingly, the research side of our work and expenditures is determined by merit, potential, and cost effectiveness, not by geographical location. However, our patient service programs, individual guideance assistance and the offerings of our extensive patient education materials, are available and promoted to all.

Why do you need my support?

The better known autoimmune diseases frequently have large, bureaucratic organizations to which donor dollars automatically gravitate. The lesser known autoimmune diseases have almost no advocates or structure to which any money is gravitating. Despite our inherent difficulty in raising funds, we're proud to be providing high quality patient services and collaborative research promotions that (especially in the case of the small, lesser known, diseases) are almost entirely absent from other sources.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

Facts speak louder than promises. We are exceptionally proud to say that 92.7% of every donated dollar (annually certified audit) goes for patient services and research. (Our 7.3% administration and fundraising costs are far lower than what most charities spend.)

Can I Volunteer? How?

Volunteers are one of the major forces in holding down our administrative costs. We have always welcomed volunteers and urge interested persons to contact us.
