Leading the way to optimal quality of life for children with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities through professional education, research and advocacy. Our values are family-centered, collaborative, excellence.
Why do we exist?
Because cerebral palsy is a complicated and multi-symptom disability, it takes a team of medical professionals to provide the quality of care needed to assure optimal results. The AACPDM is a unique organization in that it is truly multi-disciplinary; orthopedic surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, physiatrists, speech language-hearing therapists, developmental pediatricians, psychologists, educators all take part in the interchange of information, develop multi-center research projects, and offer comprehensive and caring treatment.
Organizational values:
- Collaborative
- Innovative
- Family Centered
- Excellence
What have you accomplished?
The AACPDM has brought about a change in the way families and children with disabilities are treated. Instead of going from one professional to another, teams of medical professionals now offer comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. By working together, members of the AACPDM have advanced research and improved care. Members have helped bring issues to the attention of the public and have advocated for their patients.
