How do you help people in my community?
We provide assistance to children who have come to our program from all over the United States. We provide an environment that helps them maintain their dignity as they begin to build a new life. If they fail, we are there to help them put their lives back together. We are Neighbors Helping Neighbors™.
Why do you need my support?
We need your help so we can continue to give these kids the second chance they need to get their life back on track. Your gift of $25 provides shelter, meals, counseling, and education - it provides a new life. That's great value for your dollar. You can take heart that neighbors in need are better off because of your generosity.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
Our overhead is less than 10%, meaning that over $.90 of every dollar goes directly to our programs that assist our neighbors in need, while other non-profits operate on an average of 20-35% overhead. Audits by J.H. Cohn verify this administrative overhead figure and are available upon request.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Yes. Volunteers work side by side with staff to make a difference in the lives of our young neighbors in need. Our broad range of volunteer opportunities offer something of interest to everyone. For more volunteer information, please call (619) 233-8500 x 1101.
