Mama's Kitchen

Our 13 paid employees and over 700 volunteers deliver nutritious meals and a measure of hope to men, women and children who are struggling with a life-threatening illness.

How do you help people in my community?

Mama's Kitchen has provided over 4,000,000 meals to residents of San Diego County, supplying critical nutrition for men, women and children in crisis.  All of our programs are provided free of charge because our clients are already struggling with severe poverty, with over 95% having an income below the federal poverty level.  Mama's Kitchen is the only local meal delivery service that supplies three meals a day, seven days a week.  Our nourishing meals and bags of groceries help prevent hunger, malnutrition and premature deaths among our friends and neighbors who are fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Why do you need my support?

We need to raise over $1.7 million annually to maintain our mission at current levels. Without the generous support of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of donors, Mama's Kitchen would not exist.  Your contributions stay here in San Diego County, supplying critical nutrition to local adults and children who need and deserve our helping hand in their time of crisis.

Mama's Kitchen has 54 volunteers for each of our 13paid employees, ensuring that your gift will be used with the utmost efficiency.  We have a 17 year history of unquestioned financial integrity and community support.  We strive every day to merit the continuing trust and confidence of our donors and volunteers.
